My First-Ever Church Teaching

Since I’m not yet a pastor (or even close to being one, really), I haven’t ever truly preached in a church. But this summer I was allowed to do a training session at New Life on how to lead a dynamic small group meeting. It was the first time I ever got to teach from a stage in church. It felt wonderful, and I wanted to let you share in this little slice of history in my life.

God really used this little opportunity to affirm in me that teaching is something I love and that He has made me for. And I want to do it for the rest of my life. (But don’t get your hopes up too much… like I said, it was my first time).

Perhaps it will even give you insight into what small group methods and dynamics are really having success among the college generation (i.e. what will likely have success in “big church” in the decades to come). I would really love it if you gave it a listen; it helps give me some sense of connection and shared mission with those of you who I’ve never had a chance to interact with otherwise.

If it helps you lead your small group better, that’s great.

If you have input or feedback for me regarding the teaching, I’d love to hear it.

But mostly I just wanted to share an important moment in my life with you. So enjoy.

Here it is, my first-ever church teaching: How to Lead a Dynamic Small Group Meeting (plus a little extra material from my awesome co-workers. Trust me, they’re worth listening to).
